Digital video exhibition: “Politics of (In)visibility” (2024)
This exhibition contains 15 experimental films that were created by Master students in Anthropology, during the course “Politics of (In)visibility” at the University of Vienna. The assignment was to conduct visual research into a collection of images on a topic of their choice, taking theoretical inspiration from course literature about the concept of (in)visibility and using methods of visual discourse analysis. Students then used techniques of montage to intervene in their image collection. The result is a short argumentative film about their research findings.
This exhibition was opened on June 25th 2024 at the courtyard of the Volkskundemuseum. The films were made accessible through posters with QR codes, so that audiences could watch them on their own smartphones.
