Every semester, anthropology students develop films as part of various study projects and courses. This page contains a running exhibition with films made at the Vienna Visual Anthropology Lab.

This exhibition contains 15 experimental films that were created by Master students in anthropology, during the course “The Politics of (In)visibility” at the University of Vienna.

Visual ethnographies of science

Master students in Science and Technology Studies (STS) and Anthropology created 8 short ethnographic films, during the course 'Visual ethnographies of science: Investigating knowledge production through media practice' at the University of Vienna.

Audio walk: Getting around Landstraßer Hauptstraße

During the course Anthropology of Space (2020-2021), students conducted a small-scale research project on a much-debated topic in Vienna: the reorganisation of traffic flows to create more space for non-motorized transport.

This exhibition contains 17 experimental films that were created by Master students in anthropology, during the course “Ethnographic Media Practices: The Politics of (In)visibility” at the University of Vienna. The films were produced in May/June 2020, during the pandemic.
